“Liar, Liar, Liars!" July 31, 2009 In one way or another art involves the telling of truths. Sometimes the truth is cleverly hidden, manipulated or fabricated, but nonetheless the intention begins with some form of truth. Since their invention photography and video have been relied upon to relay and document truths. Both technological mediums have the ability to capture living moments of time. Is it their responsibility to always illustrate some truth? By focusing on photo and video in this exhibition the viewer will get a look at their relationship as artistic mediums, their commonalities and their different images in the art world. The artists chosen are contemporary photographers and video artists showing us new beginnings in both fields. Mystery and brutal truths are pushed in our faces, and we start to question what is the reality that we all live in. artists: This exhibition was generously sponsered by Scheinbaum & Russek ltd.
